TVXQ! (also known as DBSK, DBSG, Tohoshinki, THSK, and too many others to list) is a rising international acapella dance group from South Korea. Their name means “Rising Gods of the East” to represent their desire to become a group popular throughout Asia and the world. Every member of the group excels in both singing and dancing. The only thing that rivals their talent in performing is their teamwork. Despite enduring tough schedules and stressed personal lives, their relationships as members and as individuals makes their group even more impressive. Their friendship is evident in their interactions and undying support for each other. Though each member is talented to enough to have a solo career, they strongly express their desire to stay together as a group. Let’s hope they do : )

Quickly after their debut in 2004, they conquered the Korean pop scene with their blend of SMP (SM Entertainment’s unique performance style of high-adrenaline dance performances and stage effects) and heart-felt ballads. Their Korean fanclub (now International), “Cassiopeia”, was named after the constellation that takes the same shape as “TVfXQ” on a keyboard. Cassiopeians show their love and support for TVXQ! by waving red balloons at their appearances. Despite not releasing any albums in Korea in 2007, Cassiopeia remains as loyal and dedicated as their favorite group is to them.

Their first single, “Hug”, easily won the hearts of listeners with their sweet lyrics and voices.

They released their first album “Tri-Angle” in October 2004 featuring BoA and TRAX on their title track.

Their 2005 album,”Rising Sun”, marked the beginning of TVXQ!’s reign in Korea. They won many awards, most notably “Best Artist” at the KMnet Music Festival.

In 2006, TVXQ! set their sights on Japan. While learning more about the Japanese culture and the language, they released their first Japanese album “Heart, Mind, & Soul” along with many singles.

They returned to Korea in late 2006 to release their third Korean album, “O- Jung.Ban.Hap”. It featured another SMP classic “O- Jung.Ban.Hap” that showcased their powerful dancing and a fun remake of “Balloons” that attracted a wider audience.

The album was very successful and they claimed the “Best Artist” title for the second year in a row at many award ceremonies : )

They continued to heavily promote in the Japanese market in 2007 with “Five in the Black” and numerous singles. In Spring 2007, they created their own radio program “Bigeastation”, named after their Japanese fanclub “Big East”.

They also made their third appearance in “A-Nation”, a Japanese nationwide concert that has greatly increased their exposure.

Although most of their activities are focused in South Korea and Japan, they are also well known in China, Taiwan, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, and many other Asian countries where, even though they only come for a brief visits, they have extremely loyal fan followings.
